We’re not your usual band…
It doesn’t really matter who you are, how old or young, tall or short, or anything like that. It’s all about being a part of something bigger. Whether you’re just starting out playing, or if you’ve taken a few years off and want to play again (and who wouldn’t?) or have been playing all your life – the CSO and CCB are a place where you can bring these skills to the stage.
Not convinced? Just come and visit us! “Sit in” at a rehearsal. You don’t even have to play anything if you don’t want to – but we’ll ask anyway. Come and see what it’s like to be playing on our team. Our organization is uniquely membership-driven and puts the people who play the music in front. Be a part of the “People Plus Music” next Generation!
Here’s some details about the groups:
First of all, remember that we accept all ages and all skill levels. You do have to know how to make your instrument make musical sounds, and how to read music.
We accept almost all instruments. There are some instruments that aren’t “written in” for our sheet music such as the digeridoo, bagpipes, and so on – so if you do play one of these then please contact us first.
We keep people and fun on the top of our list. Rehearsals are productive, yet lighthearted and entertaining. Try to arrive between 7:00pm and 7:30pm to give yourself time to set up and warm up.
Rehearsals are held at the Brampton Civic Centre, located at 150 Central Park Drive. Go to the main floor and look for the Music Room located near the north end of the building, beside the transit terminal.
